A big “Thank You” to all of our walkers, runners, and donors that contributed to the success of our team at this year’s Hunger Walk/Run. The MPI Georgia team raised $1,010.00 which will provide 4,040 meals to Georgia residents who are food challenged.  We are making a positive difference in the lives of our fellow citizens.

Team Hidi Five Event
Sunday, January 29, 2017

Team Hidi Five is the fifth annual benefit supporting The Giving Kitchen, the non-profit that serves Atlanta restaurant workers facing unexpected hardship. Team Hidi continues to be the year’s most anticipated celebration of Atlanta’s food and drinks scene, and the people who power it every day.

What’s In It For Me? Networking with area restaurant owners, chefs, and other foodies; along with fellow MPI Georgia members. TGK does great work to support restaurant workers in our community.

Mission Statement: The mission of the Atlanta Community Food Bank is to fight hunger by engaging, educating and empowering our community.

About the Atlanta Community Food Bank: The Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) distributes more than 50 million pounds of food and grocery products each year through a network of more than 600 partner nonprofits that provide food assistance to families and individuals in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. Each week, 80,600 people in 26,300 households are served through ACFB partner agencies. ACFB is one of more than 200 food banks that belong to Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Visit for more information on ACFB or to learn how you can get involved.

Please join your fellow MPI Georgia volunteers as we support the amazing good works of the ACFB (and their partner agencies) in providing food for those less fortunate throughout our State. This is a great way to spend quality time with your fellow industry members, friends, and family. Additionally, the program provides a “feel good” experience as you support those in our community who are in need—it’s also a great opportunity to teach older children the importance of being charitable (Note: children must be at least 8 years old to participate).

MPI Georgia is committed to schedule four (4) outings per year (1 each quarter). We had a great experience together for the sorting day on Saturday, January 16th of this year—thanks again to all who joined us.

A Look at the Extensive Reach of the Food Bank's Services:

The Atlanta Community Food Bank serves over 600 nonprofit partner agencies in 29 metro Atlanta and north Georgia counties. An additional 121 counties benefit from the distribution of food and products from six other food banks in the state.

Additional assistance provided by the State Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), TEFAP, and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

What a great way to serve the community and “ReConnect” with colleagues and friends at the ACFB Food Sorting Event at the Product Rescue Center. Let’s shoot for a goal of (20) participants during the season of giving.

The Product Rescue Center (PRC) provides a great hands-on experience in a diverse and social atmosphere. Groups and individual volunteers come together to inspect, sort, and pack quality grocery donations to prepare for distribution to almost 700 partner agencies across Georgia.
